Free Summer Lunch- cant complain about that! or can you???

lazy summer day, so i tell papito and puchi:

why dont u 2 go get sum free lunch at the public school.  yeah!  me and my cousins we used to LOVE the free lunches!  GO!

so they come back complaining. ...

La Pompa - the Summer Car wash

nothing like drvn thru LA POMPA and getting that free car wash and its just FUN.

so as i spy la pompa open down the block, i slow down and me and the kids cant wait to be hit by the power of LA POMPA.

but as we slowly pass by the revered POMPA, the kid blocks the water.

papito is like- que paso?

Mo' Money, Mo' Problems!

Love summertime!  I remember summertime for the free school lunches. All of us used to get on line for the free lunches.  We loved it, especially when they were serving pizza!

I also remember how lucky and relieved I was when it was 90 degrees outside and finding an open pompa and feeling so lucky that it was opened!

But how times have changed!  As move on and move up, our kids' reality is totally different.

Have my kids even broken a sweat?  Seriously!

The Telephone Circa 1993

My cell was dead.  Since I was at my lovely sister's house, MissyFoo, I figured I'll just use her phone.  She still has a landline phone, you know, circa 1993.

I picked up the phone and I dialed a number.  I stared at the phone looking for the SEND button.  I yelled out to MissyFoo in the other room, "Where's the SEND button?"  YES I did!!! For the past few years, I own only a cell.  I have no "home phone", no "land-line phone".  How quickly we forget!

I try again and this time I put the phone to my ear and I hear a "BUZZ" sound.  I waited for the noise to stop, figuring maybe it's looking for a signal.  I DID!  But it's called - a DIAL TONE!  LOL

I hang up to try again.  As luck would have it, the phone made this strange sound that went something like this: rrrrrriiiiiinnnnngggggggg.  I thought: what kind of a ringtone is that?!  I did, I swear!

I stood staring at the phone looking for some sort of display telling me who's calling.  Then

My comai and I went out for dinner at @Applebee's. We were having a great time so she snapped a picture with her Samsung Galaxy.

'Great shot!  Lemme send it to ya!'

Hey. ... we both have a Galaxy! Let's BEAM it to each other!

There we are fidgeting with our phones trying to figure it how to BEAM Or SEND.

Finally she says:

Being a Petite Model - Spotlight on Amanda Roman

Interview with Model AMANDA ROMAN

I hear you're a beauty queen, that you have competed in beauty pageants.  Tell us about that experience.
I have competed in quite a few pageants, have been in the top 16 in most but when I really look at who is next to me, I am always the shortest. At the end, someone that is quite tall appears to always be the victor – at least in my experience. I have always loved modeling and my passion has always been runway. However, as many have said in the modeling agency, you can probably do print modeling, but you wont get your foot in the door to do runway.
That's a bit rough.  is that true?
Most applications on line state clearly must be 5”7” and above.
What are your choices as a "petite"?
well if it were up Ann Lauren petite models would be on the runway!  Ann Lauren from Bella Petite magazine is fighting to change the runway fashion industry.  She has a competition to win a cover in her magazine, with a grand prize being a trip to Hawaii to do a photo shoot. More importantly, she is connecting with quite a few people in the industry to get them to notice petite women.
Why do you think that the modeling industry is so rigid with their height requirements?
I have never understood why.  Designers should create 3 outfits of the same design, have a petite model, mid size model and tall model, all at the same time with the same design, walk a runway – I would think that would cover everyone. Just because an outfit looks good on a 5’7”+ model, doesn’t necessary mean it will on a 5”1” model, and visa versa.  It’s a uphill battle getting the industry to deem us as important as a 5’7” and above model.
Why is it "bad" to be short? small?
It's not. As my pageant platforms have always been, its big to be small!

Thanks for reading my blog!
