A poll performed by the Associated Press in August 2007
reported that one-quarter of all Americans have not read a book in
the past year.

"The picture on the TV changes every five or six seconds, either by
changing the camera angle or cutting to an entirely new scene,"
writes Moody. "One researcher refers to these events as jolts per
minute, noting that as time is cut up, the brain is conditioned to
change at the expense of continuity of thought.

Americans spends 170 minutes/day watching TV,

U.S. Congress says Jan 2009 analog broadcast signals will be switched off. All TV transmission will be produced digitally. Without some type of converter box non-digital TV will be useless. So in 2009 -- let your TV die a natural death.
