started out with a touching story
of how he was diagnosed with vocal paralysis
but did not want to risk surgery
As Randy put it,
"I see no signs of vocal - whatever- paralysis!"
Paula says: "I want to squish you!"
Simon: "I thought... it was incredible."

His first audition, he sang,
"Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayers,
with such soul that Randy sang along with him.
For his 2nd audition he sang,
"Heaven" by Bryan Adams:
"Oh, thinking about our younger years..."

Yes, at only 17 David Archuleta can be the
NEXT American Idol, the youngest AI,
and the 1st Latino American Idol!

David Archuleta born in Florida then moved
to Salt Lake City, Utah, comes from a
Latino -Honduran/Mexican- musical family.
His Dad is a jazz trumpet player.
His Mom sings both Spanish and English pop music.
