Like Sunday Like Rain

The Hamptons International Film Festival #HIFF2014 is the premiere film event on New York State's east end, and is an intimate showcase of some of the year's best offerings in contemporary cinema from around the world. 2013 marked the 5th time in the last 6 years that a film at the Festival has become the eventual Best Picture winner at the Oscars, making HIFF the only Festival on the East Coast with such a distinction. In those 6 years, films
screened in the festival have received 150 Oscar nominations.

LIKE SUNDAY, LIKE RAIN  tells the story of Reggie, a 12 year old rich prodigy who lives in a castle in New York, surrounded by wealth but living a lonely life as his parents are frequently absent.

LIKE SUNDAY, LIKE RAIN is a powerful musical film about a young woman, Eleanor (Leighton Meester) who loses her job and dumps her boyfriend, Dennis (Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong) in the same day but unexpectedly lands a job as an au pair to a 12-year old musical prodigy, Reggie (Julian Shatkin), who is wise beyond his years and seemingly unaffected by his cold and incredibly wealthy mother played by Debra Messing. Reggie finds some nurturing from his longtime maid Esa played by Olga Merediz, Tony Nominated for IN THE HEIGHTS. Recurring in ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK. Appearing in Chris Rock's TOP FIVE  Merediz is probably best known for originating the role of Abuela Claudia in the Broadway musical In the Heights, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical.

Watch Olga Meredith alongside John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez in the new film FUGLY premiering November 7th.
