JLo's Homecoming - Concert Review

Jennifer Lopez came back home to her beloved Bronx for an all out extravaganza of a concert.  The tickets were free but the concert did not skimp on a single detail!

The stage was equipped with jumbotrons, a lower level where she disappeared into, another level where she was raised up to, multi mechanical cameras that moved around in all directions, graffitti set, a depiction of the 6 train, smoke and popping of fireworks, a laser show, and enough confetti to rival any tickertape parade! A total celebration, complete with some of her friends: French Montana, Ja Rule, and of course, no Bronx party can be complete without Fat Joe.

The concert started with an intro of the song by Sklar Grey slowly and sweetly:  I'm coming home, I'm coming home, tell the world that I'm coming home....

And did she ever!  She came back home brand new with a brand new single that she started
the concert with: SAME GIRL which was filmed in the same boro -the Bronx- to surprised fans on the streets of Castle Hill.  She started the show with a "re-mix" of her iconic green dress.  So I guess she is not only the same girl but also the same size!

The show continued with her new hits before she told the crowd: "Lets go back to JLO!"  and you hear the beat for 'Ain't It Funny' then Ja Rule came out and the crowd went crazy nuts!!!  Ja Rule starts off with the lyrics:  "It must be the assss...." and repeated it a few times before Jennifer Lopez began: Its been a while since you came around...

And yes it's been forever that she came around to the Bronx people may say, but really, there are no arenas in the Bronx, except for Yankee Stadium.  This arena was built just for her at Orchard Beach, Pelham Bay Park, thanks to State Farm and #NeighborhoodSessions.

Jennifer Lopez not only brought her superstar friends onto the stage but also other local Bronx heros such as Caridad de la Luz also know as 'La Bruja', @LaBrujaNYC, who is a poet, hip hop artist who is beloved and known as a Bronx icon.  Caridad de la Luz' picture was on display on the jumbotron along with other Bronx notables as varied as Carolyn Porco, a planetary scientist to local Bronx students.

J-Lo proclaimed that she remembers hanging out on the stoop in the Bronx and sat with her 2 back up singers on a staged stoop and harmonized with them.  The one that people say can not sing, did a whole harmony on a stage stoop.  But that wasn't enough for gutsy Jennifer Lopez.   She didn't get this far by playing it safe.  NO.  You won't believe what this ballsy barrio girl did next!  Part 2 of 3-->  Ya Jenny Llego!
